Dear Super Pals of The Universe,

Hello, hello! Happiness and joy abounding... here's what's shakin' round Austin town and beyond:

RECENT COMMUNITY ACTIVISM
I am happy to report my 50 mile Hill Country Ride for
AIDS bike ride was a success! I rode the entire route,
mostly by myself but with the help of gentle winds, a
giant white heron, colorful wildflowers, two Pirates
delivering cold water, and the cheers of volunteers in
crazy hats with pom-poms! Thanks to everyone who
donated to my ride!
(you can read more about it all on www.zenlala.com)

The bra I created for the Breast Cancer Resource
Center looked smashing on the model who wore it in the
fashion show, and went for $1000!

My annual donation of a decorated pot for the Umlauf
Sculpture Garden was taken away for $126, by a woman
who has another of my pots...so now she has a set! The
highlight of this festive event was dancing with my
daughter with the big swing band of Nash Hernadez, and
then being asked to sit in...so I sang a duet of
"Unforgettable"...and let me tell you...I am hooked! I
want to join that band and sing big swing all day
long! Of course, I was thinking how nice a Domestic
Science Club reunion would be....

Yesterday was Grammy Career Day at Huston-Tillotson
College here in Austin...The Recording Academy brought
in around 350 high school music students and our board
of governors and several guest panelists presented a
day on the music industry that included break out
sessions on engineering, songwriting, DJing, film and
commercial music. I had a super time on my panel, and
taught two songwriting courses. I will be ending my
four year term as governor, but look forward to
returning!
Working with kids is the BEST, and the staff of our
our Recording Academy branch are fantastic -- so a HUGE
thank you to Teresa Jenkins (Ex. Director), Fiona and
Jennifer. On behalf of all the students:
THANK YOU!

my friend, veronique matthews, was recently given an
incredible gift...the accolade of queen for a day from
the duchess of york!
sarah ferguson came to texas to bestow the honor upon
veronique for creating "hearts and hooves", a
mini-horse therapy group that helps those in physical,
spiritual and emotional pain. veronique's story is
even more astounding in that veronique created this
foundation after a double mastectomy; she still
suffers incredible pain and, yet, bravely marches
forward, healing lives. please watch this link to feel
inspired...and thanks to paul hudson for writing
"always a saint"...
thank you, also, to the today show for celebrating
this incredible woman, friend and mentor to so many!

RADIO UPDATE FROM CURTIS NICHOLS IN FLORIDA

Good News for us Sara fans this morning. I was driving
along, channel surfing the XM radio and heard
Sara singing "A Song of You" on XM Channel 15,
The Folk Village.

According to the XM Web Site
(http://www.xmradio.com/onxm/channelpage.xmc?ch=15)
the program director of XM 15 is Robert Aubry Davis.
It wouldn't hurt to drop him a line saying thanks:

I am sending you love and wishing you well, always!
