BOO! And Happy Halloween, Everybody!

First, I MUST thank all of you for the amazing
response about my friend, Beard. He is up and out of
the hospital. They still aren't sure what caused him
to collapse or his lungs to have fluid in them. He's
pale and a little tired, but other than that he's back
to being full of piss and vinegar. They estimate his
medical bills will be in the neighborhood of 100k.
Hopefully, the hospital will negotiate a lower
settlement. Goodness gracious.

Why YOU are so great....You've all sent auction items,
monies, love, well wishes, offers of
volunteering...So, bless you and thank you.
I will figure out a time to do a fundraiser for Beard,
but in the meantime, I believe there is a big one
tonight at Club Dada (Oct 28) in Dallas with David
Garza, Brave Combo, and many others....so if you are
in the vicinity, go on down, meet Beard and I
guarantee he will thank you in person! If you'd like
to send a donation, please make your check out to JOHN
BREWER at:

Also, this is a shout out of love to an amazing
friend, Larry Gottlieb, who is also very, very ill out
in Los Angeles, CA. Larry and I were members of the
improvisational band, The Cheese, back in my Dallas
days. He has liver and pancreatic cancer and is in
tremendous pain. Larry is a brilliant comedian with a
heart of gold, and I will be going out to see him end
of November. I ask that you all keep Larry, and his
wife, Cynthia, in your prayers.

As you can imagine, this will be a crucial event on
the tour because Huntsville is where all executions of
inmates occurs in Texas. Our first event last month in
Austin was extraordinary, but I am hoping we have a
turnout of many folks in Huntsville. Come join the
dialogue and be a part of a historical night as we
continue our music/speaker series on the death penalty
in the heart of Texas' heartache.

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH SARA...events, radio, tv,
etc....

SUPER PAL UNIVERSE

Please visit our site, http://www.superpaluniverse.com! We
have been adding more and more video content and
information about events involving the band, SUPER PAL
UNIVERSE! As you may or may not know, this is
a concept I've carried for years that is, finally,
coming to fruition: I mentor a group of teens who are
a rock band called Super Pal Universe.
It's wacky! It's fun! It's educational! And we'll be
at the Book Festival (November 3) and the Chuy's
Parade on a big, ol' float on November 24th (both
Austin events.)

Super Pal Open Mic Party (for other kid bands/solo
musicians!)
November 3rd
5-7 pm
Gibson Show Room
Penn Field Park
3601 South Congress
Austin, TX

The party will run from 5:00 to 7:00. SPU will lead
off and perform 4 songs, then we'll have "open mic"
for other individuals or bands who have signed up in
advance. We'll have a film crew from Latinitas
filming and we'll post all performances on the
website!

We will limit the capacity to ~100 through the RSVP
process.
Please RSVP to: brie@superpaluniverse.com

We will have all amps and backline - drums, keyboard,
bass and lead amps. You may bring your own guitar or
other instrument.

What to wear? You're going to be on the Super Pal
Website, baby!
Get creative!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Change4Change FundationCommunity outreach is a key part of the Super Pal Universe mission.
We have set up a non-profit branch called the 'Change4Change Fundation!' (C4C) that will raise money and provide grants to non-profit partners in the Greater Austin area. See http://www.c4cfundation.org
for details!

RADIO

I did a radio program called "Art of the Song" with
John and Viv out of New Mexico. This program is
carried on over 100 stations, and one of the most
wonderful programs I've ever done. I, basically, was
invited to talk about creativity: how I live it, what
it means to me, my background, etc. Very fun.

If you'd like to be able to stream the program, we
invite you to link to their "listen" page. The URL is:

http://artofthesong.org/listen.html

And in the coming weeks, I'll let you know about
Northern Spirit Radio, in which I was interviewed
about my feelings on God/spirit and how it affects my
music. We recorded that yesterday, and it was moving
to be able to talk about Romania, Aurora, my faith
journey, how I try to share my love of God through
music and example (and not by forcing anyone else to
believe a certain structure or any religious rules.)

PHOTOGRAPHY
I don't think I mentioned this, but I was honored to
be involved with the TX Singer-Songwriter portraits by
Gary Goldberg! I'm one of several musicians in the
show and book. If you'd like to see more, you can
visit:
http://faculty.mwsu.edu/art/goldberg/8568-Catalog.htm

AMERICAN IDOL

Listeners on American Idol Underground have rated my
song among the top 50 tracks in the Folk genre during
the previous week.

You can see my place on the charts by clicking here:
http://www.idolunderground.com/Pages/
StoreFronts/BrowseStations.aspx

I’m sure you’ll need to register and all that good
fun. And then go to the Folk section to listen and
judge. I was at #33 with "Claim on My Heart", which
has fallen to 44, so I appreciate if you have time to
share your vote!

Until I see you in person, have a safe, happy
Halloween and remember to brush your teeth after all
that candy chompin'!

I wish you love,
Sara
